Leontief family house on Zhdanovskaya Street 43. In this very house

The gallery is constantly exhibited in Leontief Centre (address: 25,

Readings: Economics and Law from the series of Leontief Readings
was held. Organizers and sponsors: St Petersburg City
Administration, Evrofinance Mosnarbank Joint Stock Company, ICSER
Leontief Centre. General information partner – Expert North-West
magazine, information partner – Delovoy Peterburg Newspaper.
The Conference Programme included following parallel section
meetings: “Economics, Law, and Transformation of the Russian
Society”, “Economic Analysis of Law and Criminal Conduct”, “Economy
Legal and Illegal”. In the framework of the plenary sessions a wide
range of issues was discussed, from the role of law in
social-economic transformation of Russia to economic approach to
legal norms interpretation and to defining legal and illegal
constituents of modern economic systems.

house Wassily Leontief, famous economist, future Nobel-Prize Winner and the
Leontief Centre founder lived during 1906-1925.
On February 26, in the same place, in
the framework of VIII Annual Leontief Readings the solemn ceremony will be
held, devoted to the 10th anniversary of Wassily Leontief death.
In 2006 the opening of memorial plaque was included in
Wassily Leontief Centenary Celebration Programme as one of the central
event. The Plague was established

2007 on the basis of the St Petersburg Government Regulation #1 from15 of
January 2007.

2008, published the article «We could
probably shoot you, after all», devoted to Wassily Leontief, the
first Russian which has received the Nobel Prize. The Author Dmitry Mityurin
tells about several months from life of the future winner of the prestigious
award which he has spent in GPU on Gorokhovaya street in 1922-beginning
1923.

On March 31st, 2007 a
lection devoted to the Nobel Prize winner Wassily Leontief
and, particularly, to his work Structure of the World Economy:
Outline of a Simple Input-Output Formulation was held at
Economic Faculty of Chuvashia State University in the framework of
intellectual club activities. At the instance of organizers Leontief
Centre supported organization of the event.
Students of Economic Faculty in cooperation with administration of
Chuvashia State University organized intellectual club titled Speech
Club to discuss activities of Nobel Prize winners and their works.
Each lection includes two reports and two co-reports, presentations
and handouts, students make reports. Lections are followed by
discussions. University teachers are members of the jury.
