Statement of the Public Committee on Awarding at Leontief Centre

  1. The Committee is a public institution. Its members are Russian and international prominent economists, public figures, entrepreneurs, gained public recognition both in Russia and abroad.

  2. The functions of the Committee are as follows:

    • Establishment and rewarding of awards, including medals, premiums, diplomas is the field of economic research and economics management

    • Recommendation of nominees from the Committee for other awards, including Leontief medal «For achievements in economy», established by the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences in cooperation with Leontief Centre

  3. The initial membership of the Committee is 5 persons. The Committee members have a right to introduce new members by their decision. The maximum membership is 9 persons

  4. The Committee members:

    • Sergey Vasiliev, Council of Federation, Committee on Financial Markets and Currency Circulation, Chairman; ICSER Leontief Centre, Chairman of Academic Board

    • Mikhail Dmitriev, Foundation “Center for Strategic Research”; President

    • Irina Eliseeva, The Sociological Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences, Director; Russian Academy of Science corresponding member; Member of Academic Board

    • Andrei Zaostrovtsev, Saint Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance, Senior Lecturer, ICSER “Leontief Centre”, Senior Research Fellow

    • Marek Dabrowski, Center for Social and Economic Research (CASE), Warsaw, Chairman of the Council

  5. The decisions at the Committee are approved by the majority of votes of its members. The voting procedure: the decision might be taken in presence of more that 50% of the Committee members by the simple majority of votes. The usage of e-mail and fax is possible in case of urgent necessity to make a decision if the meeting is impossible. In this case the procedure of decision-making should not take longer than a week

  6. The Chair of the Committee is elected by its members for a period of three years

  7. The functions of the Chair:

    • To preside over the meetings of the Committee

    • To represent interests and positions of the Awarding Public Committee

  8. The Secretary- provides technical assistance to the Chair, conduction, registration and storage of documentation

  9. The Committee holds its meetings not less than once a year
