Opening of a celebratory cycle of the actions devoted
to Leontief’s centenary
The plenary session “Evolution of Institutions and Russia’s Economy
Development”, held in Saint Petersburg, 21 January 2006 within the
framework of the
Seventh Annual
Global Development Conference Institutions and Development: At the
Nexus of Global Change,
launched a series of 2006 celebrations in honour of Wassily
Leontief.
The plenary session was organized by Leontief Centre and was chaired
by Sergey Vasiliev, Council of Federation Committee on
Financial Markets and Currency Circulation Chairman and ICSER
Leontief Centre Chairman of Academic Board.
The key-note speakers of the session were:

Egor Gaidar, Director of Institute for the Economy in
Transition with report “Recent Economic History of Russia in the
Context of Global Economic Trends”

Vladimir Mau, Rector of Academy of National Economy under
the Government of the Russian Federation, with report “Evolution
of Modernization Conceptions and Economic Growth”
Among the lead participants of the session were:

By the end of the session the speakers received
